We offer care based on functional neurology. That means we focus on stimulating your brain to do things in a better way. This can mean brain parts working better together or certain areas becoming more\/less active. <\/p>\n

This is a radically different method of treatment than psychotherapy, medication or classical rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

Brain plasticity is your brain’s ability to adapt and change itself through experience and learning. It involves neurons forming new connections and strengthening or weakening old ones. This leads to changes in structure and function of the brain. The effect of these changes is permanent. <\/p>\n

No new brain cells are added (or at least very few), but brain cells can make new connections. You can roughly compare this to staff training. When there are no new employees to be found, it is possible to help existing staff perform other tasks. <\/p>\n

The functional neurological examination (FNE) forms the basis of our treatment. Indeed, at FNE, we map how your brain functions so that we can treat these functions.<\/p>\n

During the FNE, we do a comprehensive examination of a variety of neurological functions. This examination takes an average of 1 to 2 hours. <\/p>\n

These can vary from training the brain function that must filter stimuli from certain senses (to prevent overload) to stimulating nerve cells in a brain circuit that is far too inactive.<\/p>\n

There are several possible payment options. However, these are not always applicable. Sometimes an employer pays, sometimes an agency such as insurance company or the UWV.
